March Newsletter

The year is progressing, and winter weather keeps us guessing, and our dancers are flourishing. We are so thrilled about the progress many of our students are making. This new newsletter layout is designed to give our clients a brief overview of everything that is happening at the studio. Please read it carefully and thoroughly so you don’t miss out on any important information. As a busy parent of 3, I completely understand that managing the family schedule is a challenge in of itself. Reading the newsletter is an important step to ease frustration and overwhelm.

Around the studio

Our Conservatory level 3 dancers have reached a milestone in their training and are beginning their pointe journey! In order to receive permission to begin Pointe dancing, dancers must be enrolled in our conservatory program, be at least 12 years’ old and pass a pointe readiness test. These dancers are in the first phase of their pointe training and will begin working their demi-pointe shoes. Our instructors continue to work developing skill and strength so they can receive their full pointe shoes in level 3. These dancers are off to a terrific start! Congratulations.

Attendance is critical

Over the next few weeks instructors will be working hard to complete recital routines! That way once spring break is over there is time to clean and perfect before the June show. Be sure to read the Recital section for more details. As always please use common sense judgement about when not to bring a dancer to class. If you have the sniffles or are just not sure, we do still have masks you can request to wear.

Important!

Please take minute to log into your parent portal and update your dancers age and contact information. We began using a new software this year, and when we uploaded previous client’s information there was a gliche and many ages were reduced (we think*) by 4 years and 1 day. Please take a minute log into your parent portal account and verify your student’s information. This is very important as we begin to plan for next year and predict how many of certain classes we will need.

In the community:

The Conservatory level 5/6 dancers will be performing at the Olympia Dance Festival on Saturday March 4th. They have worked diligently to complete their recital choreography very early and will perform it at the festival. They are very lovely and skilled dancers and will represent us well.
